DescriptionInternational forwarder is looking for Dispatcher who wants to move up. General Position Summary The dispatcher coordinates and oversees goods transportation, including communicating with trucking companies, drivers and customers, overseeing goods transportation status and administrates paper work. Responsible for determining sales rate to customer and pay amount to trucking companies/drivers. Issue invoices to customer and check bills from vendors and make payment request to accounting team. • Quotes spot rate to customer with supervisor’s approval. • Finds loads for our drivers or owner operators by using load board or calling existing customers. • Finds trucks for our loads that need to be outsourced. Arranges such loads to other trucking companies if required. • Receives shipment orders via email/phones. • Arranges transportation with trucking companies/truck drivers. • Prepares shipping related documents. • Oversees goods transportation with truck drivers via phone and GPS. • Communicates with customers and/or truck drivers for shipping confirmation, cargo statuses and delivery instructions, etc. in daily bases. • Reports to supervisor immediately regarding problems. • Administers documents. • Monitors out & in gate time at rail yard to avoid extra charges and instruct drivers/trucking companies as necessary. • Issue invoice to customer and check with customer for the payment situation if requested by accounting team. • Check the bills from vendors for POD and any other necessary paperwork is set or rate is same as the quote and so on.
Requirements• Between six to twelve months of previous experience in a similar position. Start as Temp and move to Perm after a few months. • Performs receptionist activities as necessary. • Seeks constant improvement, more efficient and less expensive ways and means in work processes. • Performs special projects and other miscellaneous duties as assigned by manager and other senior management. • Maintains high ethical standards in the work place. • Reports all irregular issues and problems to management for solution. • Maintains good communication with other staff & outside contacts. • Complies with all company policies and procedures. • Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working area. • Any works requested by supervisor as needed basis. • Needs to communicate with drivers, customers and vendors in English. • Make report per request from managers utilizing *Microsoft Word/Excel.
