DescriptionThis company is responsible for supplying professional/industrial equipment. The position is responsible for procurement/logistics of parts and products from external vendors that have been verified by this role. It is expected to negotiate with external vendors for better terms and delivery dates, while having them keep the expected quality level. This role is expected to manage inventory in order to carry out production without any problems. Overseen the logistic is included as production sites are separate from the office where this position is located. This role will be exempt. Job Responsibilities 1. Devising and using fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies 2. Discover and verify profitable suppliers and initiate business partnerships 3. Negotiate with external vendors to secure favorable terms and keep track to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness 4. Finalize purchasing details of orders and deliveries 5. Examine and inspect delivered items 6. Negotiate with vendors for quality and cost improvement 7. Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, and transportation services 8. Liaising and negotiating with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers 9. Keep good track of quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs and efficiency. 10. Arrange warehouse, catalog goods, plan routes and process shipments 11. Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets 12. Comply with laws, regulations, and ISO requirements 13. Resolve arising problems or complaints
Requirements 3-5 years of previous experience in procurement or purchasing in a manufacturing company Experice in transportation equipment or transit authority industry, costs, and terms Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite Experienced at compiling and following strict budgets Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently, while communication with Japan takes place outside of normal work hours Excellent written and verbal communication skills both in and outside of office. Strong multi-task management skills. Ability to read and interpret written documents and correctly understand verbally spoken explanations. Experience and high-level knowledge of business in general, accounting, trading, and logistics preferred.
