DescriptionInternational Manufacturer is looking for a Freight Coordinator. The position of a Freight Coordinator is to support with the outbound shipping of customer orders. The focus is to create documents for shipping, utilizing common carriers, when possible, to be cost effective and have on time delivery with minimum product damage. • Domestic shipments: Process orders and create documents for fulfillment with assigned carriers for outbound shipping, including using Portal(s) to create 3rd party bill of lading • Canada shipments: Full Trucks - create Bill of Lading and Customs, • Canada Shipments: LTL – Process orders, locate carrier, create Bill of Lading for fulfillment, create Customs for the carrier and email paperwork to freight forwarder, • International shipments: Process order, create Bill of Lading for fulfillment. Work with Freight Forwarder and provide various Customs documents and when necessary, additional certification requiring travel to nearby township. • Tracking Production/Inventory to create future shipments • Support the Compton location with international freight by completing export documents, assist with large/unusual freight by reviewing orders and providing rates. • Review, process and approve freight invoices for payment, • Create backorder document to be shipped at a later date with available inventory • Call carriers for pickup when necessary • Assist Production Dept with shipping materials: create Bill of Lading and assign carrier for pick up when necessary • Additional responsibilities as instructed by Supervisor
RequirementsTemporary for a few months, then will move to full-time/ direct hire. Few years' logistic experience. • Must be strong in multitasking and prioritizing daily work • Self-starter • Knowledge of Windows Office programs • Good English skills including writing • Will be trained with in-house computer program to create shipping documents
